The Aston Villa ace has been absent from action for two-and-a-half months.
Aston Villa ace Andre Green spoke exclusively to the Birmingham Mail in the aftermath of signing a new contract with the club, and suggested that he is two or three weeks away from being ready to make his return to the first-team setup.
The 19-year-old has not played since January 6th, after he suffered a serious hamstring injury against Peterborough United in the FA Cup, and he will be gagging to be back involved as the Villans look to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
Green began his career as a trainee at Villa Park in 2014, and has since gone on to make 26 senior appearances for Villa.
The talented forward spoke exclusively to the Birmingham Mail about his injury problems, and insisted that he is not too far away from returning to action for Steve Bruce’s side:
“Hopefully I’ll play a game (behind closed doors) in the international break and then I can kick on from that. I’m just a couple of weeks away now. In two or three weeks I want to be back in the team again and available for selection. That’s my goal.”
Bruce’s men currently sit in fourth position in the Championship table, seven points adrift of second placed Cardiff City, and having someone like Andre Green back involved will surely be a huge bonus for Villa, as they look to embark on a strong run to finish their season.
