Aston Villa’s Andre Green is attempting to shine at Portsmouth.

Aston Villa have been excited about Andre Green over the years, but they decided to send him out on loan to Portsmouth this season.
The 20-year-old forward only managed six appearances last season in a frustrating campaign, and his chances of making an impact this term were hit hard.
Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi arrived on loan before the August transfer deadline, and Villa subsequently decided that Green would be better off playing elsewhere.
Green went out to Portsmouth for the entire season, but was making just his third appearance for the club on Tuesday night in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Green did though enjoy a fine night against Tottenham’s Under-21’s, opening the scoring in a 3-2 victory for the League One side.
Villa fans and staff will be encouraged by Green’s performance, as well as by a tweet sent out by the youngster on Tuesday night.

Green admitted that he was happy to be back, and gave an encouraging message that his fitness will come over the coming weeks and months, leaving Villa and Pompey fans to be excited about his performances this season.
