Aston Villa winger Andre Green has admitted to Portsmouth’s official website that his move to Fratton Park has been very frustrating so far.

Steve Bruce controversially loaned Green out to the League One side in the summer transfer window, to help him gain first-team experience.

However, the move has not worked out as Villa or Green hoped, as the youngster has barely featured for Pompey so far.

Green picked up an injury early on in the season which has kept him out for months.

But the Villa loanee did feature last night against Tottenham Hotspur in the Checkatrade Trophy, and he got on the scoresheet.

Green now hopes that his injury problems are behind him, as he looks to help Pompey out in their promotion push.

“It’s been very frustrating because I came here to play games and hopefully it’s the end of all that for me,” Green said.

“My ambition is to repay the manager’s faith in me by scoring goals and helping this team to win more matches.”

Green’s task of breaking into Kenny Jackett’s side will not be an easy one, as they have been in such good form so far this season.

Portsmouth are top of League One, which could leave the Villa man having to impress from the bench in the coming weeks.
