Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has had little luck with injury this season.

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has informed fans on Instagram that he is “not too long” from returning to action as his bad luck with injury continues to hinder his 2017-18 campaign.
The 31-year-old had been sidelined since picking up the muscle injury on September 9 against Brentford, before returning earlier this month during substitute appearances against Derby County and Sheffield United.

However, the injury-prone forward rolled his ankle against the latter during a 19-minute cameo appearance and that caused him to miss Boxing Day’s return fixture against Brentford.
Posting a picture of his ankle on ice, Agbonlahor will have excited Villa fans by stating that he is close to a return with the Midlands outfit in the middle of a busy festive period.

It remains to be seen if Agbonlahor will return in time to face Middlesbrough on Saturday, or even Bristol City on New Year’s Day, with Villa playing four matches over the next fortnight.
This season, he has managed to make just five Championship appearances and has found the back of the net once with a tap-in against Reading during the first game of the season.
