Aston Villa have been told to double their reported offer for one Serie A defender who has been linked with a move to Villa Park.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa finished in a UEFA Champions League spot and the club are now working on potential incomings.

HITC have reported that Villa have agreed a fee with Chelsea for the signing of Dutch left-back Ian Maatsen, who excelled during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund and helped the German side reach the Champions League final.

The club are embarking on elite European football and they could well be about to sign one Serie A defender.

Villa told to double offer for Serie A defender

HITC have reported that Aston Villa have opened talks with Fiorentina for the signing of right-back Michael Kayode as they bid to fend off interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

It is our understanding that the Villains are in the market for a new right-back as the future of Polish ace Matty Cash remains uncertain.

Sources have told HITC that a deal in the region of £25 million would be enough for the right-back.

Speaking to Italian outlet Firenze Viola, football agent Dario Canovi believed Fiorentina should hold onto the right-back as the fee they could receive is not as high as they might hope. There had been rumours that Villa have made a €15 million offer for the Italian defender.

“On the other hand, I wouldn’t sacrifice Kayode because in a few years he could be worth much more. The €15m offered by Aston Villa can be refused,” he said.

Villa face Spurs competition for Kayode

As mentioned, Tottenham could potentially be in the market for a new right-back with Emerson Royal potentially on his way to AC Milan.

AS Monaco right-back Vanderson is understood to be a target for the Lilywhites so Villa could be in the driving seat for the signing of the Fiorentina man.

The right-back made quite the impression on Vincenco Italiano back in August after Kayode made his debut against Genoa in a 4-1 victory for Fiorentina.

“Kayode has a strong character, he fears nothing, and it’s important when you are this young,” Italiano told DAZN as per Football-Italia.
