Jerell Sellars is departing Aston Villa, he has confirmed via his Twitter feed.
The young forward’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has left in order to find another club after it became clear he would not be retained.
At 21-years-old, this is surely the right time for Sellars to go and play regular football elsewhere having failed to make the breakthrough into Steve Bruce’s first team.
A former Wycombe Wanderers loanee, Sellars has featured for Aston Villa’s under-23 side this season, most recently scoring in March.

Sellars never made a first team appearance for Villa, but did make the substitutes bench for a 2015 League Cup clash with Notts County.
The past few years’ instability at Villa have not made it an easy club for young players to find the stability they require in order to break through, and so to some extent Sellars can consider himself unfortunate.
Now he has an opportunity to carve his own path in the game and prove Villa wrong for not giving him more of an opportunity.
