Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing the Porto hitman.
Steve Bruce has plenty of work to do at Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, regardless of whether his side win promotion to the Premier League or not.
One particular area where Bruce will want to strengthen is his centre-forward department, with more firepower needed at Villa Park.
According to the Mirror, one of Villa’s key summer transfer targets is Porto striker Moussa Marega, who is valued at around £35 million.
Any move for the Mali international will be dependant on which division the Villans are playing in next season, however.
If Bruce’s men do go on to earn promotion back to the top flight, Marega could be a real hit for them.
He has been in sensational form this season, scoring 22 goals in 29 league outings for Porto, and at the age of 27, he is arguably now entering his prime years.
The Mali ace is a real talent, and his performances over the past few seasons have drawn interest from the likes of Tottenham and Everton, according to French media outlet Foot Mercato.
Marega is quick, powerful and seemingly built for the robust nature of the Premier League, and whilst £35 million seems like a lot of money at first glance, in today’s day and age, it actually represents decent value for a striker with such proven pedigree.
If Bruce does somehow manage to bring the Porto ace to Villa Park, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the west Midlands outfit.
