Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is not expecting any new additions to come in the early stages of the January transfer window.

Villa are next in action in the FA Cup against Peterborough United on Saturday, but Bruce is not anticipating having any new players to pick from.
The claret and blues boss admits that he is working to get deals over the line, but he does not see a conclusion in sight.

“We’ve got one or two things bubbling, but we have nothing lined up,” he said.
“With loans, I don’t think anything will really happen until the end of January.”
Villa only have a limited budget to spend in the January transfer window, as they are battling with Financial Fair Play.

Bruce’s side cannot afford to spend lavish fees, so are relying on the loan market to bring in quality.
Bruce wants to increase his options at Villa Park, to help strengthen his side’s bid for promotion.
Villa are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, after beating Lee Johnson’s Bristol City side 5-0 in their most recent outing.
