Sean Clare is reportedly leaving Sheffield Wednesday, and Aston Villa, Preston North End and Norwich City are claimed to be interested.

Aston Villa are set to sign Sean Clare following his exit from Sheffield Wednesday, according to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 11:48pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018).

It has been reported that Clare has turned down the chance to sign a new deal with Wednesday and will leave the Championship club this summer.

Villa have reportedly fended off interest from Championship rivals Norwich City and Preston North End and are set to secure the services of the 21-year-old midfielder this summer.

Good signing for Aston Villa?

Clare is a very talented and promising young midfielder, and the 21-year-old would be a good signing for Villa.

Having played for a big club such as Wednesday, the youngster will not be fazed by the prospect of turning out for Villa at Villa Park.

Wednesday must be disappointed that Clare is leaving the Owls for Championship rivals Villa, who will win promotion to the Premier League for the 2018-19 campaign by winning the playoff final against Fulham at the Wembley Stadium in London this month.
