The Fiorentina man failed to establish himself during his spell at Aston Villa.

Former Aston Villa flop Jordan Veretout is earning rave reviews in Italy for his performances for Fiorentina this season, and the 25-year-old continued his excellent run with an incredible hat-trick against Lazio last night.
The Frenchman left Villa Park for Fiorentina in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £6 million, and he has since gone on to be a real hit in Florence.
Veretout really struggled during his time in the west Midlands, but he seems to have found a new lease of life in Italy, after being deployed in a more deep-lying midfield role.

In 34 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit, the 25-year-old has racked up 10 goals and two assists.
During his time at Villa Park, he failed to notch up a single goal in 29 appearances, although he did chalk up five assists.
Veretout’s fine form has caught the eye of Ligue 1 side Lyon, who are reportedly eyeing up a £17.4 million swoop for the Frenchman this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.
Villa will surely be kicking themselves for letting the 25-yer-old leave before giving him a real chance.

They were in a tough spot, however, considering the fact that he did not want to play in the Championship, but it could be argued that the west Midlands outfit failed to get the best out of him.
Maybe another loan spell would have been the better option for both Villa and Veretout, and with the Villans looking good for promotion this season, he could have returned to the club to play Premier League football next term.
That is all hypothetical of course, and for now, Villa will surely be rueing the fact that they gave up on the Frenchman too soon.
