Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause is now keen to leave the club despite only signing a new contract back in January of this year.
That’s according to the Daily Mail as they claim that Hause is ‘keen for a fresh start’ when the summer transfer window opens.
It’s suggested that a move to Watford fell through in January, probably before Hause penned that deal to stay with Villa until 2025.
Yet just a week later, Villa swooped to sign Calum Chambers from Arsenal, adding another defender to Steven Gerrard’s ranks.
The 26-year-old hasn’t played a single minute since signing that new contract in January.
The Mail suggest that Hause is just struggling for minutes but it’s actually that Hause has been ruled out through injury in recent times.
Hause may though know that, even when he comes back from injury, he will be stuck behind Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Chambers.
That may just leave Hause feeling that the time is right to move on even after signing that new deal just four months ago.
Hause is likely to attract interest as West Ham United were very keen on signing him during the January window.
David Moyes seemingly fancied Hause as a left-sided centre back who could help fill in for the injured Angelo Ogbonna.

Ogbonna will return this summer but coming back from a major injury at 34 won’t be easy.
West Ham would be wise to target another left-sided centre back just to ensure all their eggs aren’t in the Ogbonna basket.
Hause could be the man for West Ham in that role as a player with Premier League experience whilst still having some untapped potential.
Villa can at least demand a considerable fee given that new contract for Hause in January, and it will be interesting to see if West Ham do come back in with the defender possibly open to a move.
