Aston Villa want Arnaut Danjuma and Unai Emery seemingly fancies signing him alongside Villarreal teammate Nicolas Jackson.

That’s according to The Mirror, who claim that Emery is eyeing a double raid on his former club.

It’s suggested that Danjuma is a target for Emery with the Spaniard keen to add more attacking quality at Villa Park.

Emery’s former side Villarreal will be facing Villa in a friendly on Thursday and the Spaniard will be watching Danjuma closely.

Villa are unlikely to base their transfer verdicts on friendlies but this would still be a great chance to see Danjuma against the Villa squad.

Then there is fellow attacker Jackson, who has been linked with Villa recently and is still on Emery’s wish list.

The chances of signing both players seems slim with Villarreal unlikely to let both of them leave in January.

Aston Villa could face Newcastle battle for Danjuma and Jackson

Villa aren’t the only ones who fancy signing Danjuma and Jackson though.

CMW in Italy reported earlier this season that Newcastle are challenging AC Milan in the race to sign Villarreal ace Danjuma.

Danjuma has already worked under Newcastle boss Eddie Howe at Bournemouth and a reunion could appeal.

Newcastle do need another winger moving forward and Danjuma is just one of a host of names suggested.

Another one was Jackson with the Daily Mail reporting that Newcastle are rivalling Villa for the Senegal attacker.

Danjuma is more proven and rounded as a player right now, having racked up 16 goals and four assists in 34 games last season.

Jackson is a little more raw but has huge potential at just 21. Jackson’s record of three goals in 21 games this season shows that he is a little more of a project.

Emery knows both players very well and may soon have to choose which one to go for in January with Newcastle no doubt paying close attention.
