With that in mind it would have done him good to enjoy the occasion of some international football this week – which is just what he did.
He scored his first goal at international level for Curacao in what was Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert’s final game in charge of the Caribbean nation.

He scored in a stunning 7-0 win against the U.S. Virgin Islands – his first goal since choosing to represent Curacao in March.
The former Groningen star is a former Dutch under-21 international but now has three caps for the side, ranked 154th in the FIFA World Rankings.
