The Villa Park defender has another opportunity to make his England debut in the next international break.
Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has taken to Twitter with a message following his England call-up for October’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
The 26-year-old has been in great form this calendar year following his initial loan switch to Villa Park from Bournemouth – subsequently joining permanently for an initial £20million fee as reported in The Guardian – and will be hoping for his Three Lions debut after he was an unused substitute for both of the last two national games.
This season, Mings has contributed to two clean sheets for the Premier League newcomers, as well as making 54 clearances, 10 interceptions and 53 recoveries, as per the Premier League website, so it’s little surprise that Gareth Southgate has called him up.
The towering centre-back joins Villa goalkeeper Tom Heaton and last season’s loanee Tammy Abraham in being part of the 25-strong England group heading to Prague and Sofia, where they will look to build on their 100 percent record in qualifying so far.
