Unai Emery is finally in the Aston Villa building. Over a week after he replaced Steven Gerrard as manager, he was on the Bodymoor Heath training pitch on Wednesday putting his players through their paces after his work permit was granted.
Whilst the 50-year-old gets to work in B6, off the pitch, rumours have been emerging that Emery already wants to re-unite with one of his former players – Villarreal attacker, Nicolas Jackson.
Alongside European-chasing, Newcastle United, Emery wants Villa to sign the 21-year-old, but what is interesting is that Villa’s official Twitter account seems to have acknowledged these rumours.

A slip of the fingers, maybe? Or a sign of things to come?
European transfer expert Ekrem Kounur posted about the links on Twitter, it was then liked by Villa’s official Twitter account, which he responded to, as you can see below.
EMERY TO RAID FORMER CLUBS?
There will be four games for Emery to work with before the January transfer window opens – three Premier League matches – Man United on Sunday, Brighton next week, then post-World Cup it’s Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool visiting Villa Park for a Boxing Day showdown.
And, in between, there will be a League Cup tie at Old Trafford next week.
It will be interesting to see just how ruthless Emery will be with this Villa squad, will he be patient and allow a number of highly-expensive underperforming stars to prove their worth?
Or will he boot them out of the door in next to no time and bring in his own faces?
If it so happens to be that the Spaniard wants to search the transfer market, then he does like raiding his old teams for players, so those rumours about Jackson might not be wide off the mark, afterall.
