A round-up of the transfer news at Aston Villa …

Judge wanted

Aston Villa have joined the race for Brentford attacker Alan Judge, according to a report from the Guardian today.

It is claimed that Villa are looking at the signature of the Irish star, who is on the verge of a comeback from a serious injury, at a bargain price of just £500,000.

The news has also been reported by the Birmingham Mail and Villa appear hopeful of a deal.

The same report also suggests that Newcastle United have entered the fray for Rudy Gestede’s signature.

Hogan battle

Staying with Brentford and Villa face serious competition to sign the Bees striker Scott Hogan.

He has been heavily linked with a £9 million move to Reading today, with The Sun suggesting the Royals are now in pole position to sign him this January.

Snodgrass interest

Villa have been linked with a move for former Steve Bruce favourite Robert Snodgrass.

The Hull City attacker is at a contract stand-off with Bruce’s former club Hull City, for whom the Villa boss signed Snodgrass in 2014.

The Daily Record claims Villa are one of several teams keen on the player – with Celtic ending their interest.

Aaron’s exit

Rangers reportedly want Aaron Tshibola on loan – as reported by the Birmingham Mail. The summer signing has struggled for first-team football since Steve Bruce took over as manager and could be on his way out of the club in January – with the Scottish side keen on a loan move.
