Ally McCoist says Aston Villa transfer target Jadon Sancho has ‘lost his way’ at Manchester United.
The former Scotland striker thinks Jadon Sancho, who is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, should instead secure a transfer back to Borussia Dortmund this summer, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (14/06/23 at 9:50 am).
The German club should have a big wad of cash in their hands after star midfielder Jude Bellingham signed for Real Madrid.

From that perspective, they could put a serious amount of money down on the table for the 25-year-old that scored 50 goals and assisted 64 from 137 games for Dortmund.
But since coming to the Premier League for £73 million (Sky Sports), he has struggled to make an impact and has only managed 12 goals and six assists from 79 games in all competitions for Manchester United.
Rather than heading anywhere else, McCoist feels it is best that Sancho goes back to Dortmund.
“I wouldn’t say he has fallen out of love with the game,” said McCoist. “But it looks as though he has lost his way. Ten Hag sent him out to somewhere in Holland, for a couple of weeks, to recap and find himself again.
“Would it be a bad move for him to go back to Dortmund? So do I (think it will be a great move).”
Villa should stay away from Sancho
Unai Emery is looking for wide players, but Sancho isn’t the answer.
The Midlands side, who will make a return to Europe next season for the first time in over a decade, are looking at rising Spanish star Nico Williams.
That’s the type of player Villa should be pushing for, not Sancho, who doesn’t have the ball-carrying ability, speed, confidence or final-third impact to make his qualities work in the Premier League.
