Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has claimed on social networking site Twitter that the club are trying hard to sign a midfielder.
Xia, though, has admitted that Villa will not be able to sign him before Saturday’s Championship match against Rotherham United at Villa Park.

Villa have signed James Chester from West Bromwich Albion on a four-year contract, as announced on the Championship club’s official website.
The 27-year-old former Hull City central defender has become the fifth signing of the summer transfer window for the Villans.
The former Manchester United prospect follows Tommy Elphick, Pierluigi Gollini, Aaron Tshibola and Ross McCormack to Villa Park.

Villa are reportedly ready to part company with Ashley Westwood before the end of the summer transfer window.
It has been reported by The Mirror that the Villans are ready to sell the midfielder and sign Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace.
Westwood, who is 26 years of age, has been at former Premier League club Villa since 2012.
Australia international midfielder Jedinak, 32, has been at London club Palace since 2011.
