A select round-up of the latest transfer news relating to Aston Villa…

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has stated on social networking site Twitter that the club are not interested in signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
Xia has claimed that Villa were being used by others to bargain regarding the 23-year-old former Manchester United winger.
The Chinese businessman has also shed light on the payment of the transfer fee of Christian Benteke.

Benteke joined Liverpool from Villa in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports at the time to be worth £32.5 million.
The Belgium international struggled to play well at Anfield last season and recently joined Palace from the Merseyside outfit.
According to The Daily Mail, the Eagles had to pay Liverpool a transfer fee of £32m in order to secure the services of the 25-year-old striker this summer.
Villa owner Xia has revealed on Twitter that the club have not received the entire payment from the Benteke transfer to Liverpool, as it is being paid in instalments.

Sport Witness has quoted Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier as telling L’Equipe that a deal to sign Jordan Veretout from Villa is close to being struck.
Veretout has struggled to play well for the Villans since his move to the English club in the summer of 2015.
“He is a young player, he comes out of a difficult season but he has the advantage of knowing the championship,” Galtier is quoted as saying. “He has good legs and is a good passer. I hope he will gel quickly into the workforce.”
