Unai Emery’s Aston Villa want to sign Hakim Ziyech from Graham Potter’s Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano in GiveMeSport.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Villa have been asking Chelsea about the availability of Ziyech.
Everton have also been asking about the Morocco international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

Romano said: “English clubs are interested. Some of the ones you mentioned, like Everton and Aston Villa, are asking about the situation, but they have to pay.”
Could a January transfer happen?
In our view, Aston Villa could be able to sign Hakim Ziyech from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.

However, the Villans will probably have to pay a decent transfer fee.
We do not see why Chelsea would want to just send the £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) attacker out on loan for the rest of the season.
It would make sense for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners to simply cash in on the attacking player now and get some money in to invest either now or in the summer of 2023.
Ziyech himself could be tempted to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis now.
The Morocco international played well at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and the 29-year-old will surely like to play week in and week out at club level.
