Here is the latest transfer news coming out of Aston Villa as the Midlands club continue to negotiate a deal for the sale of Douglas Luiz but one aspect is holding up the deal.

Weston McKennie

HITC have reported that Juventus are not giving up on the deal to sign Douglas Luiz and could even include American midfielder Weston McKennie in the deal.

However, McKennie is reportedly the hold up in the deal for Aston Villa with the American potentially being replaced for ‘another name’ although it is unlikely, according to Italian journalist Luca Marchetti.

“The obstacle to overcome to date is represented by the requests from McKennie’s entourage,” he said.

“So, either an agreement is reached, or the American will have to be replaced by someone else, but the second hypothesis seems more unlikely to me.”

Philippe Coutinho

One name who could be on his way out from the club this summer is Brazilian midfielder Philppe Coutinho, who has not had a good spell in the Midlands.

HITC have previously reported that Vasco De Gama are closing in on the signing of the Brazilian playmaker. Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte claims that Coutinho is still giving his priority to Vasco De Gama.

The report states that Botafogo have also made a request for the midfielder but Coutinho is reportedly still keen on a move to Vasco.

Ethan Admunson-Day

Aston Villa have won the race to sign talented Leeds-born defender Ethan Admunson-Day, following an official announcement from the club.

A report from TBR Football stated that Villa had beaten Chelsea in the race for the defender who is set to move to the Midlands from Norwegian club FC Copenhagen.

Amundsen-Day will be initially joining Villa’s youth set-up at Bodymoor Heath after racking up 68 appearances for Copenhagen U19s, registering three assists.

Chelsea and Brentford were among a number of sides interested in the Norwegian but it is Villa who have won the race.

Denzel Dumfries

A report from Calciomercato had stated that Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries was of interest to the Villains as a potential replacement for Matty Cash.

Cash has been linked with a move to AC Milan and the Dutch defender was identified as a £12 million replacement according to the Italian report.

However, as per Fabrizio Romano, the Dutchman has opened up on his future, he said: “I think my future will be at Inter, yes. It’s a top club and I love it, I feel at home at Inter.

“We are in negotiations over a new deal, there’s new ownership now so we will see what happens, but Inter is my family, I really love the club.”
