Aston Villa fancy Thomas Tuchel and would consider an ambitious move for him as a replacement for under-fire boss Steven Gerrard.
Villa were expecting a bright future when they managed to snatch Gerrard away from Rangers as a replacement for Dean Smith.
However, Villa have claimed just two win in 10 to start this season and they find themselves in 16th place in the Premier League table.
That can’t continue and with Gerrard under huge pressure, names are already being linked with his job.

Aston Villa fancy Thomas Tuchel
The Telegraph now report that Villa are considering some very big names for Gerrard’s job should they decide to sack him.
Mauricio Pochettino is the main name in the frame right now but Villa do have other names in mind.
One of them would be Thomas Tuchel with Villa keen on the German should Pochettino say no.
Tuchel lost his job as Chelsea boss in September, less than 18 months since winning the Champions League for the Blues.
Tuchel just didn’t seem to connect with new owner Todd Boehly and now find himself out of work.
Villa can offer Tuchel an immediate return to Premier League management, though it’s claimed that he is interested in becoming England manager.
That’s something Villa would need to be mindful of moving forward and it feels unlikely that Tuchel would join a relegation battle.
Tuchel has already rejected Bayer Leverkusen, a club who are established in European competition but have suffered a tough start to the season.
The 49-year-old has been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell and he is bound to have plenty of interest now he is out of work again.
This would be quite the appointment for Villa, but a deal seems hard to imagine even if Gerrard goes.
