Aston Villa think that they can secure the services of Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, according to The Sun.
What’s the story?
The Sun have reported that Villa are keen on appointing Rangers boss Gerrard as their new manager.
The Premier League club are on the hunt for a new manager following the dismissal of Dean Smith.
The Daily Mail have reported that former Liverpool midfielder Gerrard is the number one choice for the Villans.
Could Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa happen?
Gerrard seems happy at Rangers where he won the Scottish Premiership title last season.
However, in football, you just never know.

The Villans will have to pay Rangers a compensation fee as well for Gerrard, described by former Villa keeper Mark Bosnich as “an excellent manager” on Sky Sports News this week.
Villa are a massive club and are in the Premier League.
It could be very tempting for Gerrard.
However, in our view, the Liverpool legend is unlikely to leave Rangers now.
After all, Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row.
The Ibrox club are also playing in the Europa League.
Gerrard will surely want to win the league title again ahead of Celtic before considering his future at Rangers.
