Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish showcased his undoubted potential during his substitute appearance on Sunday.
Aston Villa’s teenage sensation Jack Grealish made his case for more first-team minutes in Sunday’s 2-1 spirited home win over Leicester City, despite seeing just 28 minutes of action.
Leonardo Ulloa stabbed Leicester ahead after 13 minutes when Villa keeper Brad Guzan spilled Riyad Mahrez’s deflected shot, before defender Ciaran Clark headed in Ashley Westwood’s free-kick to equalise soon after.
The game then remained level until the final 20 minutes when Alan Hutton netted from Christian Benteke’s chipped pass to give Paul Lambert’s side back-to-back Premier League victories.
It was the introduction of Grealish in the 62nd-minute which appeared to give Villa another dimension, however, with the promising winger going on to prove his status as the club’s most exciting prospect.

Replacing the injured Tom Cleverley, he would make the same amount of key passes as the team-leading Manchester United loanee during less than half the time on the pitch, while also creating a clear cut scoring chance for Benteke with 14 minutes left which could have made it 3-1.
Aged just 19, it’s somewhat understandable that Lambert has been reluctant to use Grealish more thus far but, considering how he appears more than capable of producing when given a chance, perhaps the Scot should start to think about unleashing him on the Premier League.
