Aston Villa youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has suffered another injury setback.
According to reports from Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa’s highly rated young striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has suffered another injury set back.
The 19-year-old striker is currently nursing a thigh strain and won’t be available for selection till October.
The highly talented young striker made his debut for Villa at the age of 16, and is the youngest player to have appeared for the club in the Premier League.
Hepburn-Murphy is one of the brightest young prospects in the club’s academy, but his injury problems are becoming a subject of concern for manager Steve Bruce.
What has been frustrating about the youngster is that he is developing a habit of picking up minor injuries, which is thwarting his progress.
Bruce says that he hasn’t seen him play enough over the last eight months, and that his injuries are a “bit of concern”.
“It’s a bit of a concern because he keeps picking up these niggling injuries,” said Bruce, as quoted by Birmingham Mail.
“He’s got a pulled thigh muscle and I can’t see him being available for at least another month. It’s a shame because of all the young ones I’ve heard about, he’s the one everyone talks about
“I’ve hardly been able to see him because he’s had all different injuries which is frustrating. I just haven’t seen him play enough over the last eight months and now he’s still out for a matter of weeks.”
The young striker was handed a bumper contract last season, but has only made a handful of appearances in the recent months.
Villa have made a stuttering start to their 2017/18 Championship campaign, having won just once in their opening five games.
