Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins was taking part in a game of ‘Lies’ with Matty Cash for Sky Sports when he was left dumbfounded about a simple fact he was told about Tottenham Hotspur.

The task of the game was for the England international to name as many Premier League stadiums in 30 seconds, in this case, eight, with your opposite number stating you are unable to do so.

Surprisingly, Ollie Watkins wasn’t able to name eight Premier League stadiums inside 30 seconds, despite being confident at the start as he fumbled it towards the end, as broadcast on Sky Sports

One stadium, he failed to mention was Tottenham’s, but it seems as though he actually didn’t know the club’s actual stadium name, that’s why they didn’t enter his head.

The north London club, after moving out of White Hart Lane, are yet to agree any deal with a party to sponsor their now billion pound stadium

So, they are just called ’The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’, which left Aston Villa’s star striker dumbfounded as he responded by saying ‘Oh my God’ and how ‘they need to get a new name, don’t they?’.

“Wait a minute, Tottenham’s ground is just called ‘Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium’,” asked a bemused Watkins.

“Oh my God. They need to get a new name, don’t they?! How original!”

Aston Villa’s wins at Tottenham in 2023

The year 2023 was a very fruitful one for Unai Emery’s Villa, with only Manchester City picking up more points during the calendar year.

That included two wins at Tottenham, with Watkins netting the winner last time out.

That has helped the Midlands side to second in the Premier League table and in with a chance of winning the title this season.

But don’t forget fifth-placed Tottenham, who despite their injuries, are only six points behind leaders Liverpool and within a point of their bitter rivals Arsenal.

There is no doubt that these two teams are two of the most entertaining in the Premier League and they are upsetting the apple cart.
