Jack Grealish’s transfer value has risen by £20 million in the space of just a few months, with the Telegraph reporting that the Aston Villa captain is now valued at £100 million.

With the ink still drying on a five-year contract, the homegrown Holte End hero is going nowhere any time soon.

Grealish was heavily linked with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton over the summer while, according to Defensa Central, Zinedine Zidane has identified the Birmingham-born 25-year-old as the man to add some vibrancy to a misfiring Real Madrid frontline.

But, in a game hit hard by an ongoing financial fall-out, Aston Villa’s decision to slap a £100 million price-tag on arguably the Premier League’s most influential footballer means, for even the 13-time Europaen champions, signing Grealish feels like little more than a pipe dream right now.

Interestingly, this is £20 million more than Villa were demanding back in June, when Manchester United came calling (Mail).

This is not only a reflection of Grealish’s mesmeric form, it also proves that Dean Smith’s side are in a position of serious strength.

Aston Villa have some of the richest and most ambitious owners in the game and, having tied their skipper down to a five-year deal only a few weeks ago, they are under no pressure to sell Grealish in the near future.
