Aston Villa have really disappointed in the Championship this season.
Scott Hogan during his time with Brentford
Villa hitman Scott Hogan sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared his excitement at the prospect of forming a formidable strike partnership with teammate Jonathan Kodjia.
The former Brentford man has only recently regained full fitness, following an injury setback, and scored on his return to the team during the Villans’ 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
After his big money move to Villa Park in January, the club’s fans expected to see him pick up from where he left off at Griffin Park, but the injury he sustained against Newcastle United in February hampered his progress.
But Hogan explained how there are exciting times ahead for Villa, highlighting the dangerous partnership that he is hoping to strike up with Kodjia, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:
“We want to form a partnership definitely – and a really good one too! We know what Kodj is like. He’s off the cuff. He can do extraordinary things and he can win games on his own. He’s a real talent. The gaffer has brought me in and I believe his thinking is to play two up front. That’s his vision.”

Steve Bruce’s side have actually finally started to look like a proper team over the past month or so, winning five out of their last six league games, and currently sit in 12th position in the Championship table.
They are a distant 11 points adrift of sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday, however, and they will really need Hogan and Kodjia to be at their very best over the final eight games of the season, if they are to have any chance of taking maximum points from those outings.
And if they manage to do just that, who knows where they could end up.
