Aston Villa star Jordan Amavi explains how his injury last season led to ‘dark times’.
Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi missed the majority of last season’s campaign after suffering a serious ACL injury, and the Frenchman shared what helped him get though what he called ‘dark times’, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old has returned to action for the Villans this term, and has seemingly come back a fitter, stronger player than he was before.

Amavi has played 17 Championship games for Steve Bruce’s side so far this season, and his impressive displays have led to rumours linking with him a move away from the club, with Everton, Liverpool and Marseille all being credited with showing interest in the full-back (Daily Mail).
And the Frenchman explained how he went though some terrible times in the aftermath of rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament last year, but shared what inspired him to come out the other end in a positive frame of mind, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

“I met a guy at the centre who was younger than me, and he had had his leg amputated. He himself was the one who made the decision to have the amputation. How and why is not the kind of thing you ask someone but every day he had a smile on his face. It made me stay strong in my head and reflect that actually things aren’t so bad, I still have two legs. I realised my injury was nothing in comparison.”
The France under-21 international’s focus has to be entirely on helming his club return to the Premier League, and if he keeps performing in the manner in which he has been of late, it will be hard for Villa to resist any approaches for the left-back in January or the summer.
