Tuanzebe has failed to play for Villa since the turn of the year.

Axel Tuanzebe has posted an injury update on Instagram as he continues to recover from a foot injury he sustained in Aston Villa training back in December.
The 21-year-old suffered the problem prior to Villa’s 3-2 loss to Leeds United in December, and has since missed 11 Championship fixtures – previously playing every single minute under Dean Smith.
On loan from Manchester United, the England Under-21 international had impressed in the first half of the season under both Steve Bruce and Smith alongside captain James Chester at centre-back.
He posted a video of his Villa highlights from this season on Instagram, alongside a caption that stated he will be “back soon” as he continues his fight towards recovery.
Since his injury, Smith has recalled Tommy Elphick from Hull City and brought in defenders Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause, all of whom have impressed in a new-look Villa defence.
It remains to be seen when Manchester United loanee Tuanzebe will be available for selection again, as focus switches to Saturday’s clash against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
