Clinton Morrison has praised Philippe Coutinho on Sky Sports News (4:10pm, March 5, 2022) for his performance for Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa against Southampton.
The former Crystal Palace forward believes that Coutinho, on loan at Villa from Barcelona at the moment, was “outstanding” against the Saints.
Villa got the better of Southampton 4-0 with ease at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Former Liverpool attacking midfielder Coutinho scored one goal and provided an assist.
Morrison said about Morrison (3:44pm): “He has been outstanding.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “He has got levels. He is a ridiculous player.”

In our view, Coutinho is a big player for Villa and has been superb for Gerrard’s side since his move on loan from Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Now, of course, Coutinho has not always had great games for the Villans, but that happens with all players.
We think that the 29-year-old has done well, and we believe that Villa should really consider making Coutinho’s loan deal from Barcelona permanent.
It is unlikely that Barcelona head coach Xavi will want Coutinho in his squad next season, and the Brazil international could be tempted to make his loan move to Villa permanent.
