Aston Villa have been touted to sign Celta Vigo winger Emre Mor, who came through the ranks at German side Borussia Dortmund.

Aston Villa have been pretty busy in the summer transfer window since their promotion to the Premier League and that transfer train isn’t stopping anytime soon.

The Sun have claimed that Villa are considering the signature of Celta Vigo winger Emre Mor, who has three years left on his contract, but his club are willing to let him go for nothing.

It is said his disciplinary issue from his days at Borussia Dortmund have followed him to Spain and his current club are fed up with him, as newly-promoted trio Villa, Norwich and Sheffield United are keen to sign him.

Simply put, Villa would be making a huge mistake if they push through for Mor’s signature because he was once a wonderkid who has fallen from grace and he would be of no help to Villa ahead of their return to the Premier League.

A player can have off-field problems, but if added with that, he isn’t producing the goods on the field of play then it doesn’t bode well for the individual – that’s exactly what is happening with Mor.

The 21-year-old had a torrid time with Celta last season, he only played 12 matches for the club in all competitions, scoring no goals and supplying zero assists, so Villa potentially signing him would be pretty baffling.

Dean Smith needs players that are going to fight for the cause, it’s one of the main ingredients they had during their promotion and it’s one they will want new players joining the club to have – Mor seemingly doesn’t have it all.

At Mor’s age, he still has a lot to learn in the game, and he has time to prove himself and turn his career around, but Villa isn’t the place to do it.

The young teenager that came through the ranks at German giants Dortmund is now a faltering wonderkid, who is seemingly falling from grace at a rapid rate.
