Aston Villa and Celtic have a big summer ahead of them as they bid to make their mark in their respective leagues next season.
Both Aston Villa and Celtic enjoyed success in their own ways during the recently concluded season, with the English side earning promotion to the Premier League and the Scottish giants winning the treble treble.
Now that Villa are back in England’s top-flight, they should make a move for Celtic’s talented defender Kieran Tierney, who has played a huge part in the Bhoys’ dominance during these previous three seasons.
At this moment in time, only Neil Taylor is Villa’s recognised left-back, but that can change if Kortney Hause turns his loan deal into a permanent one.
But that left-side of defence has been a problem area for Villa for a number of seasons now and whilst Taylor played his part in Dean Smith’s side earning promotion, he isn’t the answer for them in the Premier League.
Defender Hause has the potential, but he is more naturally suited to playing at centre-back and Smith needs to add more spice and competition to that left-back area.
The Midlands outfit should look no further than Celtic’s talented defender Tierney, who is one of the most underrated full-backs in Britain.
Last summer, Villa signed John McGinn from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian and despite the midfielder being an unknown quality at the time of his signing, he has gone on to fire the club back to the Premier League.
There is no doubt that Tierney could have a similar impact than his Scottish counterpart because his natural ability in itself would thrill the Villa Park faithful.
From his ability to stay calm in defence to being a real threat when going forward, Tierney could be a top quality purchase for Villa and they should push for a deal.
