Derby County are reportedly willing to cash in on a player who could be exactly what Aston Villa need.

According to a report from the Mirror, Derby County are willing to let Tom Ince leave this summer provided they receive an offer of £10million for the 25-year-old, and while that is a sizable outlay, Aston Villa would be wise to make their move before someone else snatches him.

While the report suggests newly promoted Newcastle United hold a firm interest in the attacker, Villa should go all in for a player who could make all the difference in their own promotion charge next season.

Villa have the money to spend and their manager Steve Bruce will know the importance of securing a return to the top flight in his first full year at the helm.

While the likes of Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan should provide plenty of goals next season, Villa are lacking in quality from wide areas.

They have plenty of wingers on their books, but none of them performed consistently last season and Ince would be a considerable step up in class.

The right winger scored 14 goals and provided eight assists for the Rams in the league this season and that kind of return would go down a treat at Villa Park.

While the former Liverpool youngster will no doubt want a return to the Premier League as soon as possible, Bruce should do all he can to convince him that if he is patient, he could be there 12 months as a regular starter and Villa star in the making.
