Alan Hutton and Ahmed Elmohamady have been regulars for Aston Villa this season.

It is fair to say that Alan Hutton has had a rollercoaster of a career at Aston Villa and it is highly likely that it will come to an end sooner rather than later.
The Birmingham Mail claimed that the 34-year-old could leave Villa this month if a tempting offer of a longer-term contract were to come available.
Rather than sell Hutton this month, Villa are better off parting ways with his teammate Ahmed Elmohamdy, who would fetch a higher transfer fee.
They could then keep the Villa Park fan favourite as a backup to youngster James Bree and with the Elmohamdy sale, they could use that money to add quality in other areas of the pitch.
Both fullbacks have been very poor this season and have played a huge part in the Championship club conceding 45 goals from their 28 matches.
According to transfermarkt, Hutton’s contract is going to end in the summer, so financially the club will not gain much from him leaving in January, but they would with his defensive teammate.

There is no doubt that this will be Hutton’s last season as a Villa player because he has shown constant signs that he is no longer able to keep up with the pace of the game.
At this moment, Villa only have one senior left-back at the club and that is Neil Taylor, but they have three right-backs on their books, which is causing Dean Smith major problems in the balancing department.
Selling their 86-cap international, Elmohamady ahead of Hutton would allow them to add depth to that left-sided area and with it keep their finances ticking in the right direction.
