Aston Villa are in need of a new forward, and Southampton’s Charlie Austin could fit the bill.

Aston Villa should attempt to soften the blow of Jonathan Kodjia’s injury by making a move for Southampton striker Charlie Austin.
Austin has barely featured for Southampton this term, with Manuel Pellegrino seemingly overlooking the 28-year-old.
Austin has not made one Premier League start, and could be made available in January.

If Austin is up for sale, then he could be the perfect option to fire Villa to promotion.
Austin has previously been a prolific scorer at Championship and Premier League levels with Queens Park Rangers, and his arrival at Villa would significantly strengthen Steve Bruce’s attacking options.

Villa will surely have to go out and sign a striker in January, as Keinan Davis is the only senior forward available to them currently.
And if Bruce is assessing which striker he should sign when the opportunity arises, then he will do well to find a better available option than Austin.
