The report claims that Brighton, Norwich City and Fulham are competing to sign the winger from the Norwegian club.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail claimed that Premier League outfits West Brom and Swansea City have shown an interest, while Sunderland have had discussed a potential loan deal for the 26-year-old.
The club wants £600,000 upfront in a deal that could rise to £1 million. It is a price that is affordable for Aston Villa, and that is why Steve Bruce should join the race for him in the January transfer window.
However, the Black Cats are in such a financial crisis, they can only afford to sign players on loan. And unless they offload some of their players, even for just £1 million, his signing looks impossible for them.
Villa are firmly back in the race for promotion to the Premier League, and Bruce needs a few signings to add quality and depth to the squad in the second half of the season.
The Ghana international is blessed with an eye for goal, and could offer creativity and attacking threat from midfield.
Given his quality, availability, and price tag it should be a no-brainer for Villa to join the race for Gyasi in January.
