The Manchester City star would be a superb acquisition for Aston Villa.
The Villans completed the signing of John Terry on a free transfer yesterday, and in doing so, made a huge statement to the rest of the Championship that they mean business this season.
The 36-year-old’s arrival at Villa Park has undoubtedly proved the Midlands club’s ambition for the campaign ahead, and his presence amongst the Villa squad will surely help Steve Bruce attract other exciting targets this summer.
One particular area where Bruce will want to strengthen is his goalkeeping department, and with the Mirror reporting that he will face fierce competition in his pursuit of Manchester United stopper Sam Johnstone, maybe he should witch his attention to Manchester City’s Joe Hart.

A move for the 30-year-old would have seemed like an unrealistic prospect just days ago, but following the acquisition of Hart’s former England colleague Terry, anything now seems possible.
The City ‘keeper would be a fantastic addition to Bruce’s squad at Villa Park, but whether they could meet the Citizens’ valuation of £15 million, according to the Sun, is debatable.
One thing in Villa’s favour is that they pose no direct threat to City, so they could be tempted to sell him for less money to the Midlands outfit than they would to one of their direct rivals.
The former Shrewsbury Town man’s experience of playing at the highest level, for such a prolonged period of time could prove to be invaluable to the Villans next term, as they look to bounce back to the Premier League.
And if Bruce manages to complete a seemingly unlikely move for Hart, a Villa team lining up with both him and John Terry in the side this season would have an extremely strong look about them.
