According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are weighing up a bid to sign Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell this summer.
It’s suggested that Villa expect Manchester City to make a move to sign Jack Grealish this summer, and are subsequently looking at potential replacements.
Cantwell has allegedly emerged as one of the top targets, with Villa considering a move for him – and it’s no great surprise.
Cantwell has been compared to Grealish many times, and was noted by The Telegraph last year having excelled in the Premier League.
The silky dribbling, the rolled down socks, the hairband that tends to annoy some… there are certainly parallels between the two playmakers.
The 23-year-old hit six goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, and six goals as well as five assists in the Championship this term.

Norwich won’t sell on the cheap and certainly don’t need to after winning promotion, with a £30million price tag believed to be on his head.
That’s still only around a third of what Villa could bring in for Grealish, so Dean Smith’s men may well have the money to spend this summer.
