Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has been linked with a move for Robert Snodgrass, having once signed him for Hull City.
According to a report from The Guardian, Aston Villa are in the race to sign Hull City winger Robert Snodgrass – and manager Steve Bruce has signed him once before.
Snodgrass, 29, has allegedly snubbed a new contract to stay with Hull, and whilst they can activate a 12-month option on his contract in January, clubs are now circling for his signature.

After five goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, it’s no surprise that Snodgrass is attracting interest, and it’s claimed that Middlesbrough, West Ham, West Bromwich, Sunderland and Newcastle United all want Snodgrass, as well as Aston Villa and his former Hull boss Bruce.
Snodgrass joined Hull in the summer of 2014 after hitting six goals and two assists for Norwich during the 2013/14 Premier League season, but missed almost all of the 2014/15 campaign due to a knee injury.

Bruce oversaw Hull’s promotion last season, and Snodgrass starred with four goals and seven assists, so a reunion at Villa Park could be appealing for all.
In fact, after Bruce signed Snodgrass in 2014 – for a fee of £7million according to Sky Sports – the then-Tigers boss raved about his new addition.
Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Bruce noted that his Hull side struggled to cope with Snodgrass when he was at Norwich, and he always liked the Scottish international at Leeds when watching his son Alex.
Bruce added that Snodgrass has natural ability to beat a player, great delivery into the box, as well as a real goal threat – comments which would suggest that an Aston Villa reunion could be on Bruce’s wish list.
“Snodgrass ripped us to bits down at Norwich last year,” said Bruce. “I’ve always seen him because he played with my son (Alex) at Leeds and I always liked him. There’s a natural ability to beat a player and he’s got great deliveries. He’ll give us a supply line. Not just that, he offers you goals,” he added.
