The report in the French publication has claimed that Liverpool have offered Watford between €35 million (£32.08 million) and €40 million (£36.66 million) for Sarr and are ready to pay the winger an annual salary of €6 million (£5.50 million) and €7 million (£6.42 million).
However, Villa have now entered the race for the Senegal international and are ready to outbid Liverpool for the youngster, according to the report.
It has been claimed that the Villans believe that they can convince the youngster to turn down Liverpool by offering him a place in the starting lineup.
Liverpool or Aston Villa?
Liverpool are the defending Premier League champions and will also play in the Champions League, while Villa narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.
However, the Reds recently signed Diogo Jota, and given that the Merseyside outfit already have a world-class front-three, it would be very tough for Sarr – described as “a real match-winner” by then Watford head coach Nigel Pearson in The Watford Observer in March 2020 – to establish himself in manager Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup.
