A report claims Celtic and Middlesbrough were keen on the Frenchman, who has arrived at Aston Villa for a medical.

Aston Villa look set to beat Celtic and Middlesbrough to the signing of Harold Moukoudi, according to Sky Sports’ live blog [August 30th, 10:40].
Moukoudi is also said to have had interest from Premier League clubs, including West Ham United.
But Sky Sports report the Le Havre centre-back arrived at Aston Villa’s training ground earlier today [Thursday] to undergo a medical, all but ending Celtic and Middlesbrough’s hopes of signing him.
According to the Sun, Villa will pay a loan fee and have to agree to a permanent transfer for Moukoudi, who the newspaper claims valued around the £10 million mark.

Celtic pair Dedryck Boyata [pictured above, top] and Marvin Compper, who each play in Moukoudi’s position, have been linked with moves away from Glasgow ahead of Friday’s European transfer deadline, while Middlesbrough lost Ben Gibson [pictured above, bottom] to Burnley earlier in the summer.
Aston Villa are said to have shared a number of targets with Boro this summer, notably Joe Bryan [who has since signed for Fulham], Matt Targett and Yannick Bolasie [now a Villans player].

Meanwhile, the Sun report Moukoudi’s arrival will clear the way for Queens Park Rangers to sign Villa’s Tommy Elphick on a permanent deal.
