Fitness issues

Odubajo has not played for Hull since the 2016 Championship playoff final due to injury concerns, and, according to The Hull Daily Mail, Hull have reservations over the right-back’s fitness.

While it could take a while for the 24-year-old to get into his rhythm and to his best, the right-back would be a smart signing for Villa, especially as he would be a free signing.

Moreover, the former Leyton Orient and England Under-20 international right-back worked with Bruce at Hull.

It was Bruce who signed Odubajo for Hull from Brentford in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £3.5 million.

Villa have progressed to the final of the Championship playoff this season and are determined to win promotion to the Premier League.
