Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic reportedly want to sign Steven Caulker on a free transfer.

It has been reported that Wigan are interested in securing the services of Caulker on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old central defender is a free agent at the moment, having left Dundee in the Scottish Premiership in the summer transfer window.
Steve Bruce’s Villa are also reported to be interested in the Englishman, who is claimed to be on the radar of Arsenal Kiev as well.

Good signing?
Caulker is a good defender who knows the Championship and English football inside out, and the 26-year-old would be a good signing for Wigan or Villa in the short term.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers centre-back is only 26 years of age, and he can still improve and develop.
Villa are 13th in the Championship table at the moment with 13 points from nine matches, while Wigan currently find themselves fifth in the standings.
