Aston Villa and Bordeaux are reportedly interested in signing Tammy Abraham from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

Earlier this morning, The Sun reported that Aston Villa were set to sign Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

It was reported by the British tabloid that Abraham – who earns £50,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – will complete his move from Premier League club Chelsea to Championship side Villa on loan before today’s 5pm deadline.

However, the Villans could face a late challenge from Bordeaux in France for the services of the 20-year-old striker.

It has been reported by French publication L’Equipe that Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux will look at Abraham to sign today.

Advantage Bordeaux?

Villa are a massive club in England and are very ambitious, but Steve Bruce’s side are playing in the Championship this season.

Bordeaux finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season and will be aiming to challenge for the top six again this campaign.

Abraham has played in the Championship before with Bristol City, and the Chelsea striker could find it more tempting to turn out in Ligue 1.

Moreover, Bordeaux will also feature in the group stage of the Europa League this season.
