Aston Villa youngster Tim Iroegbunam is reportedly on the radar for numerous top English clubs following an impressive loan spell this season at Queens Park Rangers.
According to the Athletic, the England youth international is being watched by some of England’s elite sides having enjoyed a breakout year in senior football in the Championship, with Iroegbunam making 14 appearances for QPR in the English second-tier, most of them under former Villa coach Michael Beale.
Despite the English manager taking the Rangers job over the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, Iroegbunam started in QPR’s comeback match in the Championship last weekend against Burnley. And Premier League clubs have seemingly been impressed with what they have seen from the teenager.
Lauded by former Villa boss Steven Gerrard as an ‘outstanding’ talent, Iroegbunam’s ability to play numerous positions and roles has made the youngster a useful player for QPR this season. And there is now an expectation that the England U-20 star could break into the Premier League side under Unai Emery in 2023.

Indeed, Villa have one of the best academies in England and are currently experiencing something of a golden generation of talent, with Iroegbunam expected to become the latest name to break it into the senior team following an impressive year out on loan.
However, Villa are now getting a taste of what is to come if they don’t move fast to renew terms with Iroegbunam, with top-flight interest not intensifying in the 19-year-old midfielder ahead of 2023, with the Villa Park side in a race against time.
Aston Villa must do all they can to keep hold of Tim Iroegbunam

Iroegbunam’s loan spell at QPR is going better than anybody could have predicted, with the midfielder playing regular football for the west London side as they stand with an outside chance of qualifying for the play-offs come the end of the season.
And as a result, Villa must now be doing all they can to sign Iroegbunam to a new contract, with interest starting to mount for the teenage prospect ahead of the January transfer window, with Emery’s side already losing one top academy talent this year to Chelsea in Carney Chukwuemeka.
