Dean Smith will be returning to his former club when Aston Villa take on Brentford in the Championship on Wednesday night.

Aston Villa could potentially make three changes for their Championship clash against Brentford on Wednesday night following their 3-3 draw against Sheffield United last Friday.
Andre Green, Glenn Whelan and Ahmed Elmohamdy could come into the starting XI for Jonathan Kodjia, Mile Jedinak and Alan Hutton.
Dean Smith, who will be returning to his former club in midweek, saw substitute duo Green and Whelan make an impact during their last league outing as they scored three goals in the last eight minutes to rescue a dramatic point against the Blades.
Now, both Green, who scored the equaliser, and Whelan could start against the Bees as Villa look to secure a much-needed three points.
Right-back Hutton could be replaced with Villa to play rivals West Brom at the weekend, so three games in eight days for the 34-year-old may not be a wise decision.
Added with that, Jedinak was starting his first match under Smith last Friday and he produced a poor display as he could find himself dropping to the bench.

As for versatile attacker Kodjia, he failed to make an impact in the final third and was another player replaced in the second half.
Villa are currently sitting outside of the playoff places as further dropped points is only seeing them drift further away from the promotion pack as the season enters its business period.
Nonetheless, potentially dropping defensive duo Hutton and Jedinak for Whelan and Elmohamdy might not be a bad move by Smith, nor will giving Green his first start under his reign.
