According to The Mirror, Aston Villa are willing to send Henri Lansbury out on loan before the January transfer window closes next week.

It has been reported that Villa have made the former Nottingham Forest midfielder available for a loan exit, with the player having been left out of their Premier League squad.

The 30-year-old himself wants to leave the Villans, either on loan or on a permanent basis, with Bristol City keen on securing the services of the midfielder, according to the report.

Aston Villa exit would be best for Henri Lansbury

Lansbury has failed to make a huge impact at Villa since he moved from Forest in 2017.

Steve Bruce – now the manager of Newcastle United – was in charge of the Villans at the time, and he described the midfielder as “a good player” on the the club’s official website in December 2017.

The former Arsenal prospect does not seem to be in the plans of Villa manager Dean Smith, and it would make sense for him to drop down a level to the Championship, a division he knows well and has been successful in.

City are aiming to finish in the Championship playoffs, and Lansbury would be a good signing for them.
