According to The Express & Star, Henri Lansbury could leave Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the 29-year-old midfielder is among a number of players who could leave the Premier League club this summer.

Jota, Marvelous Nakamba, Orjan Nyland, Lovre Kalinic and Mbwana Samatta are the other Villa players who could be let go, according to the reprt.

Aston Villa spell

Lansbury joined Villa from Nottingham Forest in January 2017 on a four-and-a-half-year contract for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £2.75 million.

Steve Bruce – now the manager of Newcastle United – was in charge of Villa at the time, and he described the midfielder as “a good player” on the Villans’ official website in December 2017.

Much was expected of Lansbury at Villa, but the former Arsenal midfielder has had injury problems and has not been able to make a huge impact at Villa Park.

According to WhoScored, Lansbury made two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa last season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, the midfielder played only thrice in the Championship and played 593 minutes in the Championship in 2017-18.
