Morgan Sanson’s treatment at Aston Villa by Steven Gerrard has been pretty pathetic, especially given that the team is crying out for a number eight like him.

Even though Sanson produced steady performances in pre-season, he is yet to feature in a matchday squad this season, which has resulted in fans wanting ‘justice for Sanson’.

Well, Marvelous Nakamba liked a Twitter post regarding that – and whilst it has since been unliked by the player – it highlights that there is something brewing behind the scenes at Bodymoor Heath.

Following Villa’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday, where the team was booed off at full-time, rumours started coming out about possible issues unfolding at the club.

It was reported by The Telegraph that there is some ‘confusion’ from Villa players as to how Sanson is being treated this season by Gerrard.

It’s not like Villa are riding a wave, not only are they going backwards and struggling big time, their biggest issue, other than the manager, is their midfield.

Yet, Sanson can’t even warm the bench for a team that has been tactically set-up to play like slow-moving robots that are probably going to get fined if they dare stretch play and use the flanks.

Villa take on Arsenal on Wednesday night and they have their work cut out facing a Mikel Arteta team, with a 100% start to the new season, are looking like title contenders rather than just Champions League hopefuls.

It’s obvious that Sanson won’t be part of the team that has travelled to London, Nakamba is probably the same because he’s also been frozen out by Gerrard.
